چکیده
Abstract. In additive manufacturing processes, the resulting products might have highly anisotropic granular morphologies due to complex thermal history. The most commonly observed morphology is columnar structure. of grains accompanied by orientation alignment leading plastic anisotropy. It has been shown in a recent study through local crystal plasticity calculations that evolution does not influence mechanical behavior without considering texture [1]. However, frameworks do consider effect grain size which could be complicated high aspect ratio grains. This aims investigate developed structure on macroscopic response both and non-local address capacity these models capturing realistic response. An additional subroutine implemented (see [2]) into obtain slip resistance values at each material point based geometries misorientations. allows dependent yielding crystals.

Enhancement of Optical Nonlinearity Through Anisotropic Microstructures
We investigate the polarization dependence of optical nonlinearity enhancement for a uniaxial anisotropic composite of metal nanocrystals in a dielectric host. Three cases are distinguished depending on whether the polarization is parallel, perpendicular or unpolarized with respect to the axis of anisotropy. For the parallel polarization, the results show that the 3D results are qualitatively s...
متن کاملMechanical Properties of Additively Manufactured Thick Honeycombs
Honeycombs resemble the structure of a number of natural and biological materials such as cancellous bone, wood, and cork. Thick honeycomb could be also used for energy absorption applications. Moreover, studying the mechanical behavior of honeycombs under in-plane loading could help understanding the mechanical behavior of more complex 3D tessellated structures such as porous biomaterials. In ...

Additive manufacturing/3D printing of medical devices is becoming more commonplace, a 3D printed drug is now commercially available, and bioprinting is poised to transition from laboratory to market. Despite the variety of technologies enabling these products, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is charged with protecting and promoting the public health by ensuring these products are safe...

Severe bone atrophy jeopardizes the success of endosseous implants. This technical note aims to present the innovative concept of additively manufactured sub-periosteal jaw implants (AMSJIs). Digital datasets of the patient's jaws and wax trial in occlusion are used to segment the bone and dental arches, for the design of a sub-periosteal frame and abutments in the optimal location related to t...
